Graduation

Like the weather starting our freshman year during the school’s matriculation ceremony, heavy rain casted its downpours upon Nickerson Field for the Commencement Ceremony.  I guess the rain served as the last obstacle that many of us new graduates had to face before we could escape the school’s gripe.  Looking back at pictures it looks like only half of the expected graduates showed up for the ceremony.  I’d say that those who stayed in to keep dry were smart, but I’m glad I was in the rain with my friends and the others who were willing to stand in the rain.

It wasn’t until hearing the commencement speaker’s message and hearing rain drops hit the ground that some clarity was brought to my mind.

Empty Sea

It’s a fleeting feeling that anchors the soul, drowning the senses. The surface is too far to reach for as the crushing waves pulls me down. As I stared at the bottom of the sea a, I can begin to see a glimpse of light piercing through within the depths of darkness.
